“Wangedigala” is a mountain range that attracts thousands of visitors daily. The Sinhala name of the mountain refers to the meaning of “pestle.” And it looks like a pestle in the real sense. Wangedigala and “Wangedigala mountain”  are different places that most locals and foreigners refer to as the same place. By being one of the greatest gifts of mother nature, Wangedigala mountain is a popular hiking destination. The “Wangedigala mountain” is located in Kalupahana village in the Uva province near the Sabaragamuwa University of Srilanka. As the local community predicts, it is the university students who discovered this place for hiking. And brought this fantastic natural location to the international by lots of foreign travelers and the Sri Lankan traveling bloggers. Wangedigala surrounds by several other mountains like “Adara Kanda”(among university students) and “Parawiyangala.” As one of the best-hiking destinations among locals and foreigners, “Wangedigala mountain” positively correlates with its unique climatic changes.

Sri Lanka amplifies the dignity as the pear of the Indian ocean with its pool of natural beauties. As a hotspot of tourism, the experts suggest that hiking is new that most travelers are attracting. The trek of “Wangedigala mountain” drives to Babaragdakanda from 3km head from the Kalupahana junction. Whoever climbs to the Wngedikanda summit is eligible to grab a good scenery of Horton Plains, the top part of the Lanka Ella, Yahalthennna Ella Udweria estate. The hiking trek is rather challenging, and many found it is impossible to travel to the peak.
