Our Story
``BMK travel`` Website was created with the aim of presenting you with the travel experiences I have had so far. My hobby was exploring the rare mountains, waterfalls, etc. in Sri Lanka. ``BMK travel`` Youtube channel is also the first and only existing Travel and Bushcraft Youtube channel in Sri Lanka.
Startup idea for a small business
Ever since I was a kid, I have loved eco-friendly products. I also mostly use eco-friendly products in my travel life. one day I was wandering around my village. At that, a chance meeting with a papermaker making beautiful products sowed the seed of an exciting business idea.
How we choose our products and producers
Where our products come from and how they are made are very important to us. We only work with small family businesses, community incentives, charities and accredited Fair Trade organizations and our promise are that every product on this site is Fair Trade as set out by the World Fair Trade Organisation (WFTO). All our products are handmade by skilled artisans using sustainable or recycled materials wherever possible. It is an absolute must to us that we have a mutually beneficial relationship with our fair trade suppliers. We love and respect the people we work with and have got to know them and their families well over the years and consider them true friends. It is always a joy to visit them and catch up on all the news. We are happy to be able to bring you products we love that combine our two passions ‐ travel and Fair Trade ‐ and we very much hope you like them too.
